For fans of director Andrew Dominick and Brad Pitt’s film “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” the pair’s new film should provide another fix. Dominick released the trailer for “Killing Them Softly,” in which Pitt plays a point man (a guy deployed ahead of a hitman) investigating a hold-up at a mob-protected card game.

Pitt is joined by a cast of James Gandolfini, Sam Rockwell, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard. The film has Dominick’s usual and exceptional visual panache, and looks damned good.
