We know Death and Taxes readers are really into kids’ movies and Ryan Seacrest, so here’s some breaking news for y’all:
As you may have heard, the super-host is currently producing a movie called “Food Fight” loosely based on Jamie Oliver’s show “Food Revolution,” in which “a hot Los Angeles chef known for his popular gourmet food truck” breaks the law, and is sentenced to work in a school where he “revamps the school lunch program with a ragtag group of kids.”
It’s like “Chocolat” meets “School of Rock,” which sounds pretty terrific to me. According to TODAY.com, Will Ferrell and Seann William Scott are the top picks to play the Jamie Oliver character, but Oliver told Today in London, “I want Brad Pitt to play me. He’s the only guy I want. It’d be a good job for Brad to get — I think it’d be good for him to get into some serious cooking.”
Oliver is probably only half-kidding. He dreams big, as he often talks about on his show, and Pitt does kind of look like a super handsome Jamie Oliver. That said, Oliver kind of looks like a less pulled-together Ryan Seacrest, which makes me wonder if Seacrest may be considering the role.
Either way, I think Jack Black would make a far more entertaining Jamie Oliver, but keep dreaming, Jamie—it got you this far.
