Brother Ali has just dropped a new song called “Mourning in America,” the title track off his September 18th release “Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color,” entirely produced by Jake One.
“This title track off of my new album is an observation on the culture of murder and death and our society. It’s also a critique of our hypocrisy as it relates to the taking of innocent lives. Power to the peaceful,” said Brother Ali.
This isn’t Ali’s first foray into social criticism. Earlier this year he was arrested for protesting a home foreclosure in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as part of an Occupy direct action.
The song is streaming below and is available for purchase at iTunes. If you pre-order the album from Fifth Element you’ll receive the track instantly.
