Berlin-based duo Barker & Baumecker are teasing their 11-track debut LP “Transsektoral” and it seems to be filled to the brim with a beautiful and rhythmic brand of techno. There’s an undercurrent of Burial, The Field and Amon Tobin simmering beneath the surface here, which means these guys are quite open to experimentation and a variety of soundscapes. Everything sounds good here, but I’m particularly thrilled to hear album closer “Spur” in its entirety. What gorgeousness and gorgeosity, to paraphrase Anthony Burgess.
