Animal Collective stopped by KCRW yesterday and offered up a live performance of “Crimson,” a song that didn’t appear on their new album “Centipede Hz” but totally should have.
“Crimson” is a different feel than most of “Centipede Hz.” Whereas the album is spastic, with bits of irresistible melody peeking through the madness, “Crimson” is a quiet, slow, track that pushes the vocal to the front and embellishes a great tune with just enough sonic weirdness to perfectly compliment the melody. It almost recalls Timber Timbre in its sparseness and reserve. Take a listen below.
