The prolific Kevin Barnes and Of Montreal add a twelfth full-length to their growing pantheon of albums with the “Daughter of Cloud,” out next month. The new record is a rarities collection made up of unreleased tracks written over the last five years.
But lest you think it’s just a bunch of scraps that weren’t worth releasing, here’s a first taste of the new album, “Our Love Is Senile,” a totally solid offering. It’s classic Of Montreal, with a sticky melody, a couple key modulations and a wacky section in the middle. What’s not to like? “Daughter of Cloud” is out 10/23 on Polyvinyl.
