Nothing is more adorably awkward than a dog wearing boots for the first time. They march around like drunk little Charlie Chaplins, apparently trying to lift all four feet off the ground at once.
According to my neighborhood pet store Citipups, the best reason for dog booties is hot asphalt in the summer and road salt in the winter, both of which can damage dogs’ paw pads. Which means that all New Yorkers with dogs should feel obligated to put their pups in boots for at least six months out of the year (and consistently upload videos of them prancing around to YouTube).
