Samuel L. Jackson narrates and stars in an Obama ad that has a particularly Dr. Seuss-inspired poetic rhyme to it. Running over three minutes, it’s pretty damned brilliant and hilarious. The messaging is simple: it attacks apathy, urging voters to “Wake the fuck up,” and say “Hell no, motherfucker!”

A young girl can’t sleep because she’s frightened by Mitt Romney’s platform. So she gets out of a bed and with Jackson’s help sets about convincing her parents, brother (perhaps a former Occupy protester), sister and grandparents to wake up or safety nets such as student loan help and Medicare will be cut.

Here’s a sample of what to expect in the video:

Sorry my friend, but there’s no time to snore. An out of touch millionaire has just declared war. On schools, the environment, unions and fair pay. We’re all on our own if Romney has his way. And he’s agaisnt safety nets—if you fall, tough luck. So I strongly suggest you wake the fuck up!”

What sort of Samuel L. Jackson campaign ad would it be without some “fucks” and “motherfuckers”? As both entertaining, creative and informative, this ad has to rank as one of the greatest political ads of all time.

And Obama should have picked Jackson as his running mate. We’d get shit done then.
