Four years ago Sarah Palin surprised us all in her debate with Biden by not collapsing into a spasm of winks and “You betchas” and actually holding her own. Last night Paul Ryan surprised us all by not crushing Biden with his supposedly nerdy policy-wonk brain.
By now the polls are in and most show last night’s debate was about a tie. Reutuers records it as a dead-even draw. Which means that Paul Ryan was about as good at debating Biden as Sarah Palin.
I don’t know if that makes me sad for Ryan or surprisingly impressed by Palin, but there you have it. If you missed the debate, you can watch the whole thing below.
