If you’ve never known exactly what to make of R. Kelly’s “hip hopera” saga “Trapped in the Closet,” Kells recently told the Miami New Times, “To put it simply, Trapped in the Closet is now like a ghetto hip-hop version of ‘General Hospital’ or ‘One Life to Live.’”

As if that doesn’t sound awesome enough to warrant catching up on the 22 chapters you may have already missed over the last five years, IFC, which has done us the favor of turning this video series into a televised spectacle, has already shot at least another 20 chapters, which they’ll start unrolling on Black Friday, November 23.

And they do indeed sound like soap opera. IFC says “The new chapters bring more suspense, mystery and drama – plus lots of unexpected twists. Hopping aboard for this next installment are two new faces, both played by R. Kelly: Dr. Perry, a therapist at Rufus and Cathy’s church guiding them through marriage counseling; and Beeno, a powerful underworld kingpin.” See?
