Hypetrak is reporting that Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock may soon be touring together, inspired by the Jay-Z and Kanye West “Watch The Throne” tour where the two heavyweight rappers toured the world in a seemingly neverending party. No word on whether or not there will be a lazer light show – can comedians even perform with a strobe light? – but if and when this happens it will be one of the biggest tours of the year, musically or not.
Chris Rock has packed arenas globally with his stand up while Chappelle has remained somewhat out of the spotlight since his meteoric ascent in the early-to-mid 2000s. Since then he has only performed sporadically in smaller clubs – seemingly reinventing his act in an almost Miles Davis-esque fashion. While reviews have been mixed, it appears Dave is clearly trying something different and exciting. So, Chappelle alone returning to the wider stage would already make headlines… with Chris Rock, too, though? That’d be huge.
