Earlier this year Brooklyn-based band Farewell Republic released their debut LP “Burn the Boats.” Now they’re gearing up to release their follow-up, “Young Effete Titans of Industry,” in early 2013. Death and Taxes is pleased to premiere the first single, “Bloomberg.”
The track is a fractured and glitchy bit of psychedelia, with instrumentation that varies between rock and electronica. The arrangements and the vocals call to mind the work of Danish band Mew’s “The Glass Handed Kites,” which is a credit to Farewell Republic, who are clearly experimenting with form and sound.
