The Weeknd debuts new track, ‘Enemy’

Abel Tesfaye had previously announced that his trilogy of 2011 mixtapes will release this year as boxed collection aptly called “Trilogy,” and that it will include an unreleased bonus track. This is not that bonus track. This is another new one that he plopped onto YouTube last night apparently just for shits and giggles.

“Enemy” is classic Weeknd—dark, dramatic, and overtly sexual in the lyrics. The deft ears over at Stereogum picked up on a nod to Smiths song “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” in the lyrics as well a sample apparently, although I’m not hearing it. Anyway, it’s a catchy tune—stream bleow.
