Call me jaded, but living on the West Coast has given me the opportunity to sit back and laugh and sometimes cringe instead of having to worry about the impending doom that is Hurricane Sandy (or if you ask Lindsay Lohan, Hurricane Sally). While news outlets (including this one) strive to give you up-to-the-minute serious coverage on this weather disaster, some byproduct stories are just too funny not to talk about. Here are a list of stories that made me laugh this morning.
There are two distinct thoughts on how to deal with storms: prepare and board up your belongings, or be like this man and run around in a horse costume. While this man is inevitably going to be the mascot of Sandy, you have to give him props for creativity.
Our next story comes from our great friends over at “Fox and Friends.” Always looking for a way to turn a news story into anti-Obama propaganda, Brian Kilmeade comes to the educated conclusion that because Obama canceled an event in Orlando, his campaign is in “Disarray.” “Fox and Friends” continues to push the envelope on what is news and what is pure bullshit.
Sticking with our friends over at “Fox and Friends,” here we see their on-the-scene reporter getting his foot stuck in the sand. Yes you heard that correctly — not getting blown over or taken out by debris, but getting his foot stuck in the sand. Poor Peter Doocy will now ultimately become a meme for Hurricane Sandy.
Now onto Twitter where our favorite celebrities try to not embarrass themselves on a daily basis. Of course our favorite drug-loving, car-crashing celebrity, Lindsay Lohan takes the cake. She tweets, “WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane (i’m calling it Sally)..? Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace.” Thank you Lindsay for that gem of a solution.
Fact: it is not a storm until Al Roker reports on it. Here is a Instagram picture to go along with his tweet, “My camera guy Callan Griffiths took this of me along Point Pleasant Beach instagr.am/p/RXikRIwCFD/.”
Not to be left out on a chance to attempt to stay relevant, Pamela Anderson wants you to make sure your pet is safe: “EAST COAST: As Frankenstorm approaches, remember to care for your animal companions.”
Finally, I will leave you with Sandra Lee helping you with all of your hurricane-related cocktail needs. She tweets, “Be safe inside with family and friends. If you need a Hurricane cocktail recipe…here’s one to help you relax…. bitly.com/TPONLZ.”
