No musician can claim to be a child of the internet more than Lil B. He doesn’t release records as much as meme-ready mixtapes (one of which was almost nine hundred songs long) and now he’s taking things to new level by releasing the visual and sonic equivalent of what you’d imagine hip-hop produced by I Can Has Cheezburger to be like.
Lil B’s new track, released yesterday, is a 5:36 collaboration with his adopted tabby cat KeKe. The song consists of a loop of scratchy, crackling electro beats, set to Lil B repeating KeKe’s name and making little meowing noises, and KeKe herself purring. It sounds pretty nuts, but if it sets a precedent for other artists to start collaborating with cats, we’re totally on board. Here’s how Lil B introduced the track on his YouTube page:
