Dave Grohl can do everything — drummer, front-man, and now that Foo Fighters is on hiatus, director of documentaries. His doc “Sound City,” about the legendary LA recording studio, comes out in February and today we get a look at the the trailer. From the trailer, it seems to be a sad story about how technology’s shortcuts have eroded our skills and souls. Not that we’d know anything about that. Anyway, take a look below—it’s packed with cameos from Tom Petty, Neil Young, Rick Rubin, Trent Reznor, and of course Grohl himself. Grohl has also partnered with some documentary heavyweights here—the writer of “The Cove” and editor of “Dogtown and Z Boys,” so it should be quality.
