I don’t feel the need to go into why Jon Lovitz is one of my all time favorite comedians and actors — the gravitas he brought to his roles in “City Slickers 2,” “The Great White Hype” and “Mom and Dad Save the World” should speak for itself — but one thing does bug me: How come Lovitz doesn’t get more roles? Why can’t he take a shot at playing against type like other “SNL” alums such as Bill Murray or Adam Sandler?
Maybe the deck is stacked against the beloved nebbish in Hollywood, but at least I downloaded some janky software to help us imagine just what it would be like to have Lovitz in a variety of popcorn fare.
