The UK has a long and storied tradition of Christmas music culminating in a Christmas Number One single, and today The xx throws their hat into the ring with a totally unexpected cover of “Last Christmas” by Wham!
Amazingly, they’re able to xx-ify the tune to the point that, with the exception of the words, it easily sounds like something that could have appeared on this year’s “Coexist.” And it wouldn’t even have been one of the weaker tracks.
