“It may feel like another day at the office. But occasionally life feels more like an action movie than reality.”
So begins a rather surreal, lo-fi video titled “Run, Fight, Hide: Suviving an Active Shooter Event,” released by the Houston government several days ago following the Newtown massacre. The narrator sounds like that voice heard in ’50s educational videos—you know, the ones warning against the threat of juvenile delinquency. Curiously, the filmmakers define a massacre like Newtown, Columbine, Virginia Tech, etc., as a “shooter event.”
According to the Ready Houston website (for disaster preparedness), it was made possible through FEMA and funding from the Department of Homeland Security.
Note the killer in the video looks vaguely like Vin Diesel.
