Do bitches love you? Sure, some bitches may like you… but anyone can get bitches to like them. Bitches loving you is clearly where it’s at, according to hip hop impresarios Drake and Lil Wayne, and they spend four minutes and fifteen seconds extolling the virtues of the aforementioned achievement of bitches loving you.

“I’ve got some good kush and alcohol / I got some down bitches I can call” preaches the chorus as sung by hook-man Future, a talented young squire from Atlanta and a worthy new addition to the Drake and Lil Wayne. Whereas Drake only provides a scant few lines in what could best be described as less of a traditional guest vocal spot and more of an Ambien™-induced voicemail, Lil Wayne, on the other hand, hasn’t sounded this good since 2008′s platinum selling smash album “Tha Carter III”. It isn’t as immediately grabbing as his breakthrough singles “A Milli” or “Lollipop,” yet “Bitches Love Me” – although unfortunately titled – reconciles Wayne’s sometimes over-thought concepts with a blunt, terse, simple ode to bitches. And isn’t that what it’s all about, anyway? Praising “bitches” might seem pretty passé in this forward-thinking, New-Yorker-subscribing, mommy-blogging society in which we live, but this is the kind of mainstream rap song that will divide 13 year olds and their parents (“Mom, you just don’t get it, uuuugghhhhh”) and for my money, the world needs more of that kind of music.
