Thao Nguyen is taking a breather from her excellent Thao & Mirah project to return to her roots with the band Thao & The Get Down Stay Down. They release their new album “We The Common” in a couple months, their first since 2009.
We already heard “Holy Roller,” the first single from the new record, and today we get a sweet little duet with Joanna Newsom. It’s a harmonizing bit of Americana, like a less emo Indigo Girls with an Appalachian twang (in a good way).
