Bonnaroo 2013 lineup revealed: Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Mumford and Sons top the bill
The annual party on the farm in Manchester, Tennessee announced the Bonnaroo 2013 lineup today, and boy is it excellent. In its 11th year Bonnaroo brings household names and underground bands together for what sounds like the ultimate party.
Topping the bill are Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mumford and Sons, Björk, and Wilco. Filling out the lineup are a multitude of amazing artists from different genres as you can see in the poster below.
Highlights include what I am sure will be an epic performance by R. Kelly, the reunited Wu-Tang Clan, up-and-coming New York rapper A$AP Rocky, whatever Billy Idol decides to bring to his live performance, post-punk band Swans, a live set by Boys Noize, David Byrne and St. Vincent, and New York City heroes The National.
Even more unique things will be going on that weekend: My Morning Jacket’s Jim James will host a special “Soul Superjam” featuring John Oates and members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and The Office’s Ed Helms will host a “Bluegrass Situation Superjam.”
Along with all of these sets “Weird Al” Yankovic and Daniel Tosh top the festival’s as-yet-announced comedy lineup.
Tickets will be available this Saturday at 12 PM Eastern Standard Time and with this great a lineup they will not be gathering dust on the shelf for too long.
