Watch every one of Seth MacFarlane’s Oscar jokes ruined by NY Times’ David Carr and A.O. Scott

How bout that Seth MacFarlane hosting the Oscars, eh? Not bad! Not too shabby! Better than watching James Franco try to prove to the world that he can do literally any activity in life while high out of his mind.

MacFarlane threw enough curveballs in there to remind us he’s a twisted bastard, but kept it out of our face enough that the whole thing didn’t fall apart at the seams like Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes.

Thankfully the New York Times was nice enough to post this video of David Carr and A.O. Scott taking a break from their usually incisive reportage to drone on for the three most painful minutes of 2013 Oscar coverage. They manage to suck the life out of every joke MacFarlane told by retelling them, and accuse him half-assedly of being a misogynist in the process.

I’d say they come off like Statler and Waldorf from The Muppets, but those guys are actually funny. Carr and Scott do manage to refer to Twitter consistently as “The Twitter,” which is kind of funny. Mostly it’s just mind-boggling. Watch below.

These guys should have a show where they just comment on shows from the family guy empire…
