Lights! Camera! Bowie! Swinton! Music video!
Now that I have successfully exhausted my exclamation point usage for the day, here’s David Bowie’s extremely cool new video for his (slightly) upbeat new single “The Stars (Come Out Tonight)” – a dark yet hooky little number with an infectious chorus.
The video, directed by Floria Sigismondi, features Bowie alongside lady-Bowie-lookalike Tilda Swinton as Bowie’s longtime wife. The casting is impeccable; Swinton gives a beguiling performance that’s up there with other lengendary music video performances such as… ooohh…. Alicia Silverstone in that Aerosmith videos? OK, so there isn’t a lot to compare it to, and Tilda steals the whole video, so maybe check it out for yourself.
