Meet Angelica, a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru worker easily in the running for the national chain’s Employee of the Year. Does Dunkin’ even hand out an Employee of the Year award? If so, this Connecticut resident earned consideration after last weekend’s act of valor and sass. Not only did she thwart a robbery at the 967 First Ave location in West Haven by chucking a pot of hot coffee in the suspect’s face, but she gave the perp lip in perfect ’80s action hero cadence. Just like this guy.
The employee didn’t even give her last name when retelling the incident of a white Ford Explorer pulling up to her drive-thru window on Saturday. That’s the kind of selfless heroine she is. As told to NBC Connecticut:
He rushed himself, tried to get out of his car. That’s when I realized he was serious. I tried to close the [drive-thru] window. He put his arm in it. He knew not to touch, because he knew there would be fingerprints … I did see his coffee that I made him, so I looked at [it] quick, threw him the first one. Looked at the pots of coffee and threw the pot of coffee at him. That’s when he started running into his truck and then he left, and I said, “Go run on Dunkin’!”
