‘Dazed and Confused’ sequel may start production this fall
Could it be? Could it be that the movie we all watched 47,000 times throughout high school, the movie that launched the careers of Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, Ben Affleck, Renee Zellwegger, Joey Lauren Adams, Jason London and tons of others, is finally getting its long-promised sequel?
That’s what Richard Linklater announced in a Reddit AMA on Wednesday. He wants to start production on the sequel, rumored to be titled “That’s What I’m Talking About” this fall.
It might be just a pipe dream, but who knows? I wonder if he plans to use people from the original cast– particularly Adam Goldberg who is kind of the dreamiest ever and should probably be my boyfriend. Although sequels are often super disappointing, Linklater hasn’t done too shabbily with the sequels to “Before Sunrise.” Maybe “That’s What I’m Talking About” will be another classic.
While most of the cast continued in movies ended up being pretty darn famous famous, the two freshman stars of the movie, Wiley Wiggins (Mitch) and Christin Hinojosa, retired from acting soon after.
