Florida man attempts to pay utility bill with crack
On Monday in Deltona, Florida, a man tried to pay his water bill by hand-delivering an envelope containing three grams of crack-cocaine.
Upon receiving the rock, the cashier at the local water office freaked out — thinking it was some sort of poison, much like the supposed toxic parcels that were delivered to government officials earlier this year. But, alas, this is Florida, the territory in which it’s not entirely implausible to imagine crack-cocaine being exchanged like wampum beads in exchange for gas, heat, electricity and a running faucet.
The suspect vanished from the scene, which was evacuated immediately. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office are currently in pursuit of the customer, whose motive for delivering the envelope is unclear. Did he drop the wrong envelope at the counter? Your guess is as good as theirs.
