Grouplove & The Rubens packed The Bowery in NYC
You know Grouplove, right? The spunky, high-energy quintet that came together via European art-commune to fill the airwaves with jams like “Tongue Tied” and “Ways to Go”? Of course you do. Well, the guys and gal are back on the road again for The Seesaw Tour and they just stopped off in NYC for two days with brother-band The Rubens, and it was one Hell of a stop. Before gracing the rooftop of The McKittrick Hotel for a private acoustic set, we got to see a shoulder-to-shoulder show at The Bowery where the sweaty rockstars showcased the bulk of their new album just after The Rubens got all bluesy for fancily-clad onlookers and industry folk. Of course, even the suits take it a little too far sometimes; I’m bummed I didn’t get a shot of the guy who passed out flat on his face… and then just proceeded to sleep there until security came.
