Heh Heh, "Beavis and Butthead" Return to MTV

Dude. This morning MTV confirmed that they are indeed reviving our favorite jackass slackers. The classic 90s cartoon “Beavis and Butt-Head” will make its long-awaited comeback.

Mike Judge, the show’s creator who voiced both characters in the original series, will be steering the new episodes as well.

For the show’s incarnation, Beavis and Butthead will still be wildly immature high school students, but they’ll be watching current videos and offering douche-y comments about celebrities like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

This may be an opening for MTV to return to its roots: music television.

Immature comments about pop stars will always be cool, as will Cornholio, Beavis’ crazed, sugar-infused alter-ego. Here at Death+Taxes, we’re pretty excited about the disembalming of our childhood anti-heroes, but we want to know: Is slackerism still cool? And if it is, why the fuck are we working so hard and not getting paid?

In the 90s when everyone had jobs, it was hilarious to watch unmotivated teenagers in Metallica T-shirts watch TV, eat crap and relentlessly talk about scoring with chicks. But now that we’re officially grown-ups in a gloomy recession, complete and total lack of work ethic doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. Maybe this time around, Beavis and Butt-Head will be obsessed with tweeting, fame, and scoring their own reality show.
