SyFy’s ‘Stonados’ hits DVD this month because life isn’t worth living

Jan 3, 2014

This week’s presentation of Masterpiece Of Shit Theatre features a natural disaster flick that yearns for the hack inspiration of its schlock predecessor “Sharknado.” Originally set to air back in April, SyFy’s “Stonados”–about a weatherman running around the city of Boston to somehow battle a tornado loaded with fucking rocks–delayed its release due to the Boston bombings. No one wants to see Beantown get destroyed by a natural disaster. It’s probably safe to assume no one wants to see “Stonados” at all.

The synopsis:

When a tornado appears in the waters south of Boston, former storm chaser Joe Randall is intrigued by the unusual weather. But as twisters begin to strike across the Boston shoreline, Joe quickly realizes this is no ordinary storm front. As the storms threaten to move inland, the citizens of Boston find themselves trapped in a tempest turning deadlier by the minute. With the city under siege, Joe, his sister Maddy and his old storm chasing partner Lee realize they’re dealing with a never before seen weather phenomenon known as Stonados.

And yet, the Syfy original movie is making its way onto DVD shelves on January 28. We brought this on ourselves. The poster art and trailer can be seen below if you want.
