Many Broadway and Off-Broadway shows are offering 50% discounts on tickets for tonight to make up for cancellations. The discounts are available only in-person at the box office. Shows participating so far include “After Midnight,” “A Night With Janis Joplin,” “Machinal,” “Outside Mullingar” and “Disaster!”. Other shows are sure to hop on the bandwagon, check Playbill.com for updates.
Restaurants are offering in-person discounts on hot chocolate, soup and other winter weather vittles. The Fourth is offering one dollar off the total bill per inch of snow that falls in New York City. You’ll be willing the snow to fall! Village Voice will be updating restaurant discounts throughout the day. Not good enough for you? NYC Parks will be handing out free hot chocolate to sledders. Before you run to the nearest park, note that this only starts tomorrow (ugh).
Rumor has it that stores have been sending out discount emails (in person and online) to their email subscribers. Some stores, including Brooklyn Industries and West Elm, are listed here. Your best bet is to check your favorite store’s social media feeds.
