Listen to the title track off ceo’s upcoming ‘Wonderland’ LP
Eric Berglund was formerly one half of the electropop duo The Tough Alliance, but when the group parted ways in 2009, he began his solo career as ceo (all lowercase mind you). In 2010, he released his solo debut “White Magic” to general fanfare and positive reception. Now in 2014 he’s got his finally got his second LP on the way: “Wonderland,” due February 4th on Modular Records.
Today we get to hear the title track of “Wonderland.” It’s a sprawling 6 minutes of synthy madness. Actually, it’s probably a bit restrained compared to the album’s excellent first single, “Whorehouse,” but perhaps a bit more complex. Berglund certainly takes a few cues from Animal Collective (and it doesn’t help that Berglund’s voice sounds a bit like AnCo’s Avey Tare’s at times), but he’s certainly developed an exceedingly poppy sound for himself, with lots of looping vocals and some synth patches you probably haven’t heard in years.
Listen to “Wonderland” below and pre-order the album on iTunes now.
