There’s a stuffed animal cafe in Japan for lonely people
While everyone has been talking about the bizarre health code violation slash guerrilla marketing shit show that is the Cat Cafe, a cafe in Japan takes it an absurd step further. Moomin cafe in Japan allows you to dine with various stuffed animals, to keep lonely people company.
The restaurant is based on a series of Finnish picture books, about a family of lovable hippopotamus-like things. Pretty much everything in the cafe utilizes the characters in some way.
And, should you visit and be dining alone, a waitress will come to your table and inform you that someone would like to sit with you—referring to a stuffed animal of one of the Moomin characters. It’s the most adorable, lonely idea in the world.
