Bride tied her baby to wedding dress, dragged her down the aisle
Newlywed Shona Carter-Brooks got married over Memorial Day, and she definitely made it one to remember.
Shona walked down the aisle and everything was as she imagined it—right down to her Vera Wang dress from David’s Bridal being altered to drag her baby on the ground behind her. Yes, that’s correct—her one-month old daughter was fastened to the train of her dress and pulled down the aisle behind her mom.
Once photos from her wedding started spreading on social media, Shona experienced the dreaded internet backlash, with news media and random commenters indignantly suggesting her baby be confiscated by child services. Shona, however, has a secret weapon—Jesus.
“Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train,” she wrote on Facebook, somewhat less than reassuringly. “Most important while yall got ya feelings in us we had our hearts in Christ which covers all!!” She continued, “The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine.”
On Sunday, she wrote defiantly, “Yes I say again, ‘We covered by the Blood,’ that will never loose [sic] its power!'”
