Bear falls through skylight into birthday party, eats all the cupcakes
A super-chill Alaskan black bear who was totally hungry and just wanted some cupcakes crashed a little kid’s birthday party to get them—literally.
Alicia Bishop and Glenn Merrill were at home setting up for their infant son’s birthday party when the uninvited guest made a surprise entry via the skylight.
“I was literally in the room, and I heard this cracking,” Glenn Merrill told CBC News. “And the next thing you know, there’s this bear that, I mean, literally, fell right from (the skylight). It was like one metre away from me.”
Merrill quickly ran out of the room and shut the door behind him. The bear paid him no mind and proceeded to eat all the cupcakes.
The couple then opened a door from the living room that leads outside and, like you might do with any unwanted party guest, “yelled at the animal until it casually walked out of their residence,” according to CBC. No word on whether it took a party favor on the way out.
Unfortunately this story has a sad end—authorities believe the bear was the same one that crashed another house party in the area, and decided to kill it. “People were inside that building. I think it was appropriate for that given the situation.”
Maybe remember this guy next time you’re getting ready to crash someone’s bash.
