The National Brood Some More On New Song “You Were A Kindness”

NYC group performs “Bloodbuzz Ohio,” “Terrible Love,” and “England” on Minnesota Public Radio.

After having one of their best years on record you would think that The National might lighten up on their standard brooding. But in a recent live performance on Minnesota Public Radio’s “The Current,” the group is just venturing into darker territory with their new material. Despite its complementary title, the new piano ballad “You Were a Kindness” is anything but kind. That is unless you find slowly destroying someone’s life to be a nice thing to do. The slow minor key number is dark, to say the least.

The band also performed excellent renditions of “Bloodbuzz Ohio,” “Terrible Love,” and “England. Listen to “You Were a Kindness” and the entire “The Current” performance from The National below.
