Last night T.I. was arrested in West Hollywood with his wife, Tameka Cottle, on drug possession charges after police caught them hot-boxing. Police said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car that prompted them to search the vehicle.
Authorities have not yet revealed if any other drugs were found in the car, but TMZ is reporting that they found a small amount of what appears to be ecstasy.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, is currently on probation stemming from a 2007 weapons sting where he was caught receiving three machine guns and two silencers that had been purchased for him by a friend. He served seven months in prison and three months in a halfway house for that one.
After being released, T.I. spoke out about the dangers of drugs and guns and even filmed a reality show for MTV titled “T.I.’s Road to Redemption: 45 Days to Go.” He appeared to be serious about turning his life around. That is until last night.
Of course 50 Cent had something to say about the subject, and went to his twitter account this morning to say it.

Who knows if T.I. did get busted with methamphetamine or ecstasy. If he did, who knows how 50 Cent knows this. He does however have a point, especially if they only got caught with weed. That marijuana charge is going to hurt T.I. a lot more than Cottle since he’s on probation. If she takes the fall for him, she’ll basically get a slap on the wrist, especially in California.
There’s no reason for two people to go away for one charge. Someone has to woman up and say its theirs. All things considered (including Fiddy’s tweet), there was probably more than just a dime sack of the sticky icky in the car.
This news comes one week after Paris Hilton got busted for coke while she was hot-boxing outside of a hotel. Everyone, especially celebrities with records should know that if you’re going to get blazed in a car, you better not have any real drugs on you.
