Brooklyn psych-trio Prince Rama have just released their first video from their latest album “Shadow Temple,” and it’s no surprise that this video is trippier than “Donald in Mathmagic Land” and “Fantasia” combined.
The video for “Om Namo Shivaya” is full of psychedelic imagery mixed with clips from Prince Rama’s energetic live show. It also features video of them doing something that resembles that stretch you did in high school P.E. class, but slowed down, and with some weird video faded into it.
“Shadow Temple” is their first full-length for Animal Collective’s label Paw Tracks, and was released last week. Avey Tare and Deakin of Animal Collective helped with recording—they recorded the album at Kurt Vonnegut’s grandson’s cabin. Which makes one ask the question, Kurt Vonnegut has a grandson?
Prince Rama is currently on tour with Deakin. Following that tour’s conclusion, they’ll continue their trek with Light Pollution.
