Damn, educated women really hate Donald Trump

Donald Trump, a man who disemboweled the scarecrow from “The Wizard of Oz” and called it his hair, is not well liked by college-educated women, who prefer Hillary Clinton by 30 points.

According to Politico, The Donald is losing with college-educated white women to his Democratic opponent 57 percent to 27 percent. To demonstrate just how bad this is for Trump, consider that Mitt Romney ended up winning with that demographic by six points over Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

White dudes, meanwhile, love Trump. He leads by 11 points with college-educated white men, and by 31 points with men without a degree. He’s also ahead with women who don’t have a degree, as a Monmouth poll conducted over the summer found they prefer him to Clinton 49 to 32.

Clinton is already up by huge margins with African-American and Latino voters, so Trump’s really counting on a white supermajority to carry him to victory. It’s a problem, therefore, that smart white women largely hate him. He is an alleged rapist, after all.

According to the Politico story, the rift between the amount of support college-educated men and women have for Trump is also causing rifts within families, with both sides thinking that you’d have to be some sort of idiot to vote for the other candidate.

“It’s absolutely a mindfuck that this is even a possibility and that a halfway educated person — not just American, but person — in their right mind can look at this train wreck and think that this is even an acceptable option,” a 32-year-old graduate of Tulane University and the University of Houston law school named Carol told Politico’s Carey Purcell. “I can’t even wrap my brain around it.”

Carol is keeping her decision to vote for Clinton from her family and husband.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post mistakenly identified Carol as a Trump supporter. She is a Clinton supporter, according to the Politico story. Typo fixed. Death and Taxes regrets the error.
