That blocked new Prince EP leaked anyway

It’s the one-year anniversary of Prince’s death and an EP of some of unreleased tracks that was supposed to be out Friday in commemoration got caught up in a legal battle earlier this week. Prince’s estate blocked the release of “Deliverance” by filing a lawsuit against sound engineer George Ian Boxill, accusing him of violating a contract between himself and the late musician. In addition, the estate and Paisley Park requested that “any and all masters, copies and reproductions” of Prince’s work be returned to them. In a cruel (but not wholly unexpected) turn of events, the EP leaked anyway. There are no winners here.
