The Prophecy Of The Strokes: And They Will Cometh Together For A Fourth Studio Album.

Looks like The Strokes will be (finally) reuniting for a crack at their long-awaited followup to 2006′s First Impressions of Earth. Follow the jump.

Bassist Nikolai Fraiture — more recently of folk rock, side-project Nickel Eye fame — said the following on his Twitter page :

“While the guys are in LA, I went to scout some studios in NYC with Ryan today for what looks like Jan recording!!! mood = f***ing excited!”

You’re preaching to the choir, Nicky old boy.

Assuming the man accompanying Fraiture wasĀ longtime Strokes’ manager Ryan Gentles, prophecies of a fourth album might be on the horizon for the garage rock revivalists. Having their debut album Is This It recently top NME’s “100 Greatest Albums of the Decade” it’s safe to say the possibly wiser and undoubtably older Strokes will be facing increased expectations from critics and fans alike on their next studio release.

Well, assuming they actually get it recorded and all.
