The Pixes have a new website, and they’re celebrating with a free concert download.
The Pixies have a new website. To celebrate, they’re giving a way a free download of their live set from Coachella 2004. For some mysterious reason, they’ve decided to make an embedable widget for for the download, so since you’re already here, you don’t actually need to need to go to their site to download it, which would seem to defeat the purpose of giving away the concert in the first place. But hey, who are we to criticize? Perhaps Frank Black et al are just feeling generous.
Either way, now that Limewire shut down, you’ll want to take advantage of all the free downloads you can get.
The site also prompts users to upload photos and videos, presumably of Pixies concerts, with which they’ll probably construct some kind of Radiohead or Beastie Boys style exquisite corpse. But, you know, it doesn’t specifically indicate concert footage, so what the hell—maybe get a little more personal with it and see what happens.
Unless you happen to be Chilean, and maybe have some pics of the Pixes concert for Chilean Miners? If you’ve got some of those up your sleeve, you can almost be certain to see yourself immortalized in DVD soon.
