Feds just seized 25,000 tons of pot from Mexican drug lords.
In the wake of Prop 19′s failure, federal agents seized 25,000 tons of pot from Mexican druglords in San Diego. The banderos were transferring the drugs through an 1,800 foot-long tunnel that connected the Mexican frontier to sleepy San Diego.
I was watching Bill O’Reilly last night as he pontificated on the ill effects of marijuana on society, hammering against its legalization. O’Reilly argues for a forced rehabilitation program for marijuana users, which would make government bigger, by the way, instead of jail. It’s kind of a moot point, since the Mexicans can clearly churn out marijuana faster than Budweiser can bottle beer.
But enough about the pot debate — what federal agents discovered yesterday is an unbelievable amount of marijuana that Americans would gladly smoke. How long would it take us collectively? Almost forever.
Depending on the size of your rolling paper and the strength of your character, roughly an 1/4 of an eighth of marijuana goes into one joint. Last night’s discovery would create 25.6 million joints.
I talked to a few people about this, professionals all, some casual pot smokers, others amazing pot heads, and the collective analysis is that a joint burns for about 10 minutes, more if you’re lazy. That amounts to 4.26 million hours of pot smoking, or 487 years.
That’s a very big number. You practically have to be high to comprehend it. And you could be, if it weren’t for those pesky voters.

With the current number of regular cannabis users in the US, it would all be consumed within an hour, Its like 3/4 of a joint per person.
