Cindy McCain Speaks Out Against DADT in ‘It Gets Better’ Video

Cindy McCain and and Megan McCain should just admit that they’re not Republicans.

Cindy McCain appeared in a new video for the “It Gets Better Campaign” and broke with her husband, criticizing the military’s DADT policy.

Citing teenage bullies who discriminate against gay peers, she says, “Our government treats the LGBT community like second class citizens—why shouldn’t they?”

The video also invokes Ronald Reagan economic theory, saying that discrimination “trickles down” from government policy to everyday life.

This is a pretty unequivocal endorsement of progressive values. Between Meghan McCain ripping on Sarah Palin and Christine O’Donnell and Cindy McCain breaking with her husbands’s defense of DADT, Cindy and Megan should just admit that they’re not really Republicans.
