The Athens-based group will be bringing their alt country stylings to ‘The Late Show’ December 9
Phospherescent will be finishing up their tour in New York, playing the Bowery Ballroom this Friday night, but not before making their first late night television appearance on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘ on Thursday. Phorsphorecent has already started burning up the year end lists with their most recent full length, “Here’s To Taking It Easy,” reaching number eight on both Paste and Mojo’s best albums of 2010 lists, and given Letterman’s propensity for such acts as Wilco and Fleet Foxes, it’s bound to make his list as well (if he has one).
It’s surprising Phosphorescent has not made the jump to late night TV before, considering Matthew Houck has been cutting records under the name since 2003, and especially given the appeal of their Willie Nelson tribute record, “To Willie” they put out last year. Either way, it’s bound to a delightful performance, and a great wrap up show at the Ballroom.
