Glenn Beck just can’t understand why more Americans don’t hate Muslims. Didn’t you guys see The Siege?
According to the U.S. Census Bureau there are 307,006,550 people in the United States as of 2009. According to Glenn Beck, there are 157,000,000 Muslim terrorists in the world. This means there’s more than half of the American population in Muslim extremists comprising the Islam religion? Woah, Glenn Beck, chill.
“What is the number of Islamic terrorists in the world? One percent? I think it’s closer to 10 percent, but the rest of the PC world will tell you ‘oh no, it’s minuscule,” said Beck this morning on his radio program.
“Okay, well let’s take you at your one percent,” he continues, and I stop to wonder why he’s yelling at me. “Look at the havoc of one percent of Muslims causing on the rest of the world!” I’m sorry? My one percent didn’t mean it?
Let’s take Beck at his ten percent. That is 157 million alleged Islamic extremists, who in Beck’s view “want to blow stuff up,” but according to the FBI only 6% of terrorist attacks in the U.S. from 1980 to 2005 where from Islamic extremists.
However, right-winged hate groups and “anti-immigrant vigilante groups” have risen 80% in America in the past year. Militias and “patriot” groups that are openly distrustful of our federal government and want to overturn it have risen 244%.
Just recently Glenn Beck himself, through use of hateful rhetoric, drove a man, Byron Williams, into attempting a mass-murder of leaders of the Tides Foundation and the ACLU, as Williams later admitted in his prison cell.
Even better, in 2006 Beck threatened the Islamic world with a flagrant symbol of concentration camps: “In 10 years, Muslims and Arabs will be looking through a razor fence at the West.”
He then spoke words that don’t at all make me nervous about his popularity with conservative America:
You want the profiling to stop? Then, here’s an idea. Stop murdering innocent people. Stop excusing the people who do. You do that for a while, and I guarantee you won’t have any more problems at the airports. Stop blowing stuff up and the world just might be your oyster. Otherwise, it’s going to be like that movie, The Siege. You remember that movie?
If you, like most Muslims, don’t remember that movie, here’s the basic gist: Bruce Willis turns Yankee Stadium into an Islamic prison camp.
Even if that doesn’t at all encompass the entire plot of the movie this is clearly the only thing Beck is referring too. He then brought up the razor wire again.
The real statistics show that out of the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world less than 1% are actually extremists and only 15% of Muslims are Arab meaning, 100% of what Glenn Beck says is extremely stupid.

They may not be terrorist but, they percentage that have a favorable view of terrorists seems to be closer to ten percent than 1. There views on capital punishment for adultery and cutting off hands is a bit scary..

Frankly, Colleen, I don't like those numbers no matter how you factor them. Oh, and BTW, I think Glenn Beck is a complete fruitcake in need of massive doses of Thorazine. But just because he's a complete nut doesn't mean there isn't a huge problem in this world that extends from the pillars of Islam. Why don't we see the legions of “moderate” muslims rising up to accuse, apprehend, prosecute and incarcerate their errant brethren? Sure, we hear a few muslims claim to denounce the extremist terrorists (in front of westerners). But they take no action against their brethren. Why?
Frankly, Ms. Stufflebeem, I'm a little perplexed and tired of muslim apologists trying to tell the western world that we don't know how to read the Q'uran or the hadiths. I tired of muslim apologists trying to tell the world that the problems of the middle east (that have been a pervasive feature in our homes on the nightly news for over 40 years) are not attributable to Islam.
It's admirable that one should desire peace and tolerance in the world. But when one sector of the world refuses to cooperate to that end, then where does that leave us?

How many people have been stoned to death, how many GLBT have been beaten and killed because god said homosexuality is wrong, how many blacks were murdered due to KKK’s supposed christian beliefs, how many Jews have been killed because they supposedly killed christ? Your thinking isn’t thinking, it’s ignorance about history. The stoning of women, murder and execution of gays, Christians, Jews, etc. goes on every day in the Muslim world, and obviously you missed it. While the West has mainly gotten past all that, the Muslim world hasn’t and never will as long as it’s Muslim because the commands to do it are chiseled in stone in the Quran under the seal of infallible Allah. When Muslims immigrate, they bring the Quran with them, to even question it being a capital offense according to its own text. How many have been murdered recently by madass Muslims just because they heard that some American preacher burned his mass-printed copy of the Quran, like it’s any business of theirs? Their attitude of supremacy and intolerance was gained by imbibing the Quran, no place else. Yes, the Bible contains its bad parts but closer analysis shows that Jesus’ words countermanded most of them, and as for Jews, they still cling to their Hebrew Bible and its horrible strictures, but it only applies inside their own communities, while the Quran declares that the whole world must be made to submit to it, a gigantic difference.
Jesus never commanded his believers to conquer the world with the sword, but only to preach his Gospel despite all handicaps and persecution, while Muhammad the final prophet of Allah did just that, and did his share of persecution of Christians and Jews to set the example. Yes, after some countries were officially Christian for a long time, a rot set in that made them bad places to live, but usually dissidents would quote Jesus’ own words to short-circuit them, which can’t be done with Islam, since Muhammad’s words are the only source of Allah’s words, he invented the cult all by himself allegedly. Of course the atheist scientists have them all beat, but despite their power and influence their numbers are few.
So, instead of fighting each other, we need to unite to stop Muslim immigration now, quarantine and contract the Muslim world, and force it to renounce Islam as the official religion and open up to all religions, and drop Sharia and rejoin the human race. Yes, this will require a world war, but the alternative is to give them time to ramp their numbers up from 1.6 billion to 2+ billion, and further infiltrate the West. Sorry, but the Muslims are collectively among the most dangerous groups on Earth, especially as they’re trying to get their hands on nukes daily.
