Party like its Nineteen-Guggenheim with Chromeo on the first Friday in February from 9pm – 1am. For the final installment of the museum’s event showcase: “Art After Dark: First Fridays ,” the Montreal natives have been billed to wrap up the five-year series.
How fitting for the cultural epicenter, that is the Guggenheim, to play host to this particular brand of “cultural harmony”…literally. The Jewish/Arab duo (yeah, you heard me) are currently in the studio working on their third album. The track “Night by Night” was recently released and is to be included on the upcoming record.
For those weary of the DJ scene – fear not. Chromeo’s funk-fueled beats, sappy lyrics and ironic sense of ghetto fabulousness are the sheer embodiment of a good time…think less DJ Glow Stick and more DJ Hall & Oates.
The show offers free admission to members of the Guggenheim. As for the uncultured swine, that is the rest of us? We’re looking at $25 at the door.
