Last night, Minneapolis, Minnesota native and world renowned musician Prince debuted his song ‘Purple and Gold.’ It’s a sort of fight song for his hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings, who last week, trounced the visiting Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The song was released three days before the Vikings are set to hit the field at the Louisiana Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, for the NFC Champsionship Game.
Check out what the hometown press has to say about the song and listen to ‘Purple and Gold‘ for yourself.
Being that the Vikings are visiting the Saints don’t expect to hear Prince on Sunday, instead look for a raucous crowd Chanting “Who Dat!?” and listening to Baby Boy Da Prince’s ‘This Is The Way I Live” (Saints Remix). Re-hashed or not, you’ve got to give it to the New Orleans native, his song trumps Prince’s on all fronts.
