Elijah Wood Owns a Record Label?

Apparently Frodo Baggins owns a record label, Simian Records and he founded it in 2005, when he was only 23-years-old. I turn 23 in a few months and I don’t even have health insurance or a car. By that time he had already acted in 30 films, dropped some ring in a volcano, and founded Simian Records.

In an interview with VIMBY.com Wood explained how he wanted to be more involved in the music scene.

“Seeing that there were so many bands that I liked that weren’t necessarily getting attention. Bands that I thought were really excellent, but were too small and got shuffled to the side. Part of the interest was to help bands that I believe in and in some way do my part to contribute.”

Currently Simian Records is home to The Apples in stereo and Heloise and the Savior Faire.

Who would have expected this from the former hobbit?
