Listen To New Strokes Track “You’re So Right,” Preview The Entire New Album

Stream the second song to drop off the forthcoming “Angles.”

When The Strokes released “Under Cover of Darkness” last month people got really excited—and rightly so: hearing that single was like taking a trip down garage-rock memory lane to 2001, a time when we were young, carefree and The Strokes were in their prime.

That “old-school Strokes” sound on “Under Cover of Darkness” led many to speculate that “Angles” might be a return to basics and pretty much left the world hoping for “Is This It II.”

It sucks to be the bearer of bad news but judging by “You’re So Right,” the new track released off the album, it sounds like we wont be getting that trip back to 2001 — instead we’ve got a heavily-reverbed Julian Casablancas, dark guitar riffs, and an almost post-punk electronic track.

It’s not bad. It’s an interesting, at times compelling, stab at furthering and adding different elements to the band’s sound—it’s just not what we were expecting.

Stream “You’re So Right” below before it gets taken down. Listen to 30-second snippets of the entire album over at CoS.
